2. Course description This course is designed to give you the knowledge and understanding of the principles and practical skills needed for a career in a broad range of engineering fields. The course provides an ideal opportunity for learners without relevant experience to develop the necessary skills and underpinning knowledge to progress to an apprenticeship in engineering. The course content will focus on the essential skills needed of engineering craftsmen and technicians e.g. health and safety electrical and electronic principles welding maintenance and machining techniques and CAD.

3. Entry requirements You will need to have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade A*-C including maths science and preferably English Language. A grade D in English Language may be considered or equivalent. 4. Equipment required Please enquire at your interview. 5. Assessment method The course comprises ten units over the one year duration and units are assessed by externally marked assessments and internally centre marked assessments of practical skills and knowledge.
