Course programme

Oil reservoirs mature and ultimately reach the limit of their economical productivity under primary management strategies. In order to extend the production life of such reservoirs, already proven improved and enhanced oil recovery techniques have to be considered. Carbon Dioxide (CO2) injection emerged as one of the most feasible process from both physical and economic aspects.

This intermediate to advanced level course first will review the concepts of the different Improved and Enhanced Recovery methods. Afterwards, the course will focus on the CO2 processes.
