Course programme

Background to the Course

Today, site environmental management is an increasingly important role for managers in the extractive and mineral processing industry. It is therefore important than managers have an increased understanding of their environmental responsibilities and are able to oversee an environmental management system (EMS), recognising improvements and making recommendations where appropriate.

Who Should Attend?

This course has been developed for site managers and operations managers responsible for one or more units, who oversee the environmental management system and have overall responsibility for identifying and improving areas and work practices from an environmental perspective. It has been designed to prepare candidates working towards the NVQ in Health, Safety and Environmental Management in Quarries at levels 4 and 5, or for those intending to do so, as it provides substantial coverage of the environmental knowledge requirements of the award.
