Information about the course

Performing Arts: embraces every discipline within the generation of a "performed" product. The utilisation of dance, music and acting skills together with the production elements such as lighting, audio, scenic design, technical stage management and relevant business practices.

This two year full-time programme is one of seven titles being offered under the umbrella award of Creative Enterprise Foundation Degree at West Herts College. The programme has been developed and will be administered by the University of Hertfordshire.

The programme addresses the thinking, processes, attitudes and skills that are common to all creative activities. It provides a structure that enables students from a variety of starting-points to develop their own creativity within a context provided by the industries and organisations that utilise this creativity. The creative sector is comprehensively mapped by national, regional and local organisations and there is a common view as to their extent.

Student work on the programme is generated by project briefs that deliver structured opportunities to meet module learning outcomes, within scenarios that reflect current vocational practice
