Introduction:
The Foundation Degree is a new qualification, allowing greater flexibility in career development, with progression to an honours degree course for successful students gaining a merit or distinction.

Study Mode & Location:
This programme may be studied on a full-time or part-time basis. The full-time programme is studied over two years whilst the part-time programme is studied over three years. It will be held at Preston College, Fulwood Campus, St Vincent`s Road, Preston, PR2 8UR.

Assessment:
Assessment is via a combination of coursework, portfolio of work-based practice, presentations, assignments, and practical assessments.

Careers & Progression Opportunities:
Employers have been fully involved in the design of this programme and will contribute to the assessment of modules. The course opens up opportunities in a range of occupations in the growing sport, health and exercise business. Examples include coaching, personal training, fitness leader, PE teaching/lecturing and gym management. Successful students may progress to a BSc (Hons) Degree in Sports Coaching/Studies at the University of Central Lancashire and may gain entry to, and considerable exemptions from, other sport related degrees and professional qualifications.
