Foundations of English Law Course This course is designed for students and legal assistants who wish to embark on a study of English Law, or to enhance their existing knowledge. This is a foundation course encompassing the elements of Civil, Criminal Law and English Land Law, consisting of six assignments with tests and a final examination.

What is Law and how does it evolve?
The Legal system, the Courts and Judiciary
Contracts and Torts, Civil Actions
The basic components of Criminal Law
Arrest, Indictment, Types of Evidence, intensive discussion of hearsay evidence
Land Law, Legal and equitable Estates, Co-ownership, Easements, Covenants, Adverse possession

Study Hours
This is only an approximate figure and is dependant upon how much time you can dedicate to your studies and how well you grasp the learning concepts in the course material. Furthermore, at the end of each lesson there is a question paper that needs to be completed and returned to your tutor. You should allow at least 1 - 2 hours of study to complete each question paper.
