Beauty Therapy Level 1 NVQ
This full time course is aimed at 16-18 year olds wishing to pursue a career within the beauty therapy industry. It provides an introduction to the skills required in beauty therapy.

Course Content:
# Assist with facial treatments
# Assist with nail treatments on the hands
# Assist with salon reception duties
# Ensuring your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
# Prepare and maintain the beauty therapy work area



Key Skills:
As part of the NVQ in Beauty Therapy at Level 1 you will be required to study Literacy and Numeracy and attend both academic and pastoral tutorials.

City & Guilds.

Attendance Requirements:
A good level of attendance is expected (85% or above) to enable all aspects of the course to be fulfilled. A high attendance percentage is also considered when progressing on to Level 1.5 or 2.

Kit/Uniform:d
A uniform is compulsory for this course in accordance with Inustry Codes of Practice. The college dress code for this course is very specific and details will be given out at enrolment. The uniform consists of a white dress and tights with flat, enclosed white shoes with a non-slip sole. Kit Fees: 50.00 (approx) Uniform Fees: 50.00 (approx)

Entry Requirements:

* Applicants must have 4 GCSEs at grade E or above including English
* A successful personal interview with the course leader



Entry Process:
All applicants will be invited to an interview with the tutor, allowing you to find out more and check that the course is the best option for you. Interviews normally take place between January and September of the year in which the course starts.

Assessment:
Students will be assessed by a combination of the following methods:

* Practical observations
* Written tests


Progression Routes:
Students that successfully complete the NVQ in Beauty Therapy at Level 1 will be considered for progression on to Intermediate Beauty or Level 2.
