About this course
* A satisfactory reference and at least Entry Level 3 in English, Reading and Writing
* You will also ned one of the following: A BTEC Introductory Diploma in a related subject at Merit or Distinction grade, or a good standard of numeracy and literacy supported by a general education equivalent to 4 GCSEs to include English and Mathematics at grade D or above or equivalent
* Applicants will be required to attend college interview, will sit an assessment and provide a recent reference.

Fee Information: The College charges a range of fees, primarily Home and Overseas. Under 19s assessed as Home, do not pay the course fees, we only charge a 20 enrolment fee which is refunded if you complete the course. Home students over 19 undertaking their First Full Level 2 (equivalent to 5 GCSE A-C) or their First Full Level 3 (equivalent to BTEC National or 2 ALevels) will be charged 20 enrolment fee plus any examination fees. For Home students over 19 receiving certain state benefits, the 20 enrolment is charged and not refundable. In all other instances, you will be charged the Home-EU or Overseas Fee.
This course enables you to build your skills and knowledge for the Travel and Tourism industry. Subjects include:

- Marketing
- Planning a study visit
Key Skills studied include:
- Application of Number
- IT
- Communications
For students who speak English as a second language, extra English classes are provided in addition to the BTEC programme.
Success on the BTEC First course will help you to progress onto the BTEC National Certificate in Travel & Tourism or Business or employment in the industry
Assessment:
All units are assessed, and graded as, Pass, Merit or Distinction and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded.
After the course:
- We offer courses from Levels 1 to 5. You could start at level1 and progress through to Level 5 (Degree level)
- Progress onto Higher Education at university or study on of the Foundation Degrees offered at the College.
Courses offered: FDA Travel & Tourism - The College also offers professional Air cabin Crew courses for students who have been out of school for 2 or more years (contact the College Information Centre for more details)
