There are no formal entry requirements but you must be over 16 prior to starting the course. You will be invited to attend an interview at the college and a place can be provisionally offered providing that the course meets your requirements.

What will I study?
A compulsory element is the study of Numeracy and Communication at a level appropriate to your ability; this may be up to and include GCSE level. The main body of study involves following a choice of courses which may include Painting & Decorating, Bricklaying, Care for Young Children, Hairdressing and IT.

How will I be assessed?
There will be an Initial Assessment on starting your course; this allows lecturers to tailor the Number and English courses to your ability. You may be asked to complete assignments during the year ? most qualifications are gained by completing a portfolio of evidence.

Career Opportunities & Progression
The aim of the course is to provide you with the knowledge of what you enjoy or dislike in the vocational area. The course is intended to give some insight into courses offered by the college and advice is given on how to access these courses. If there is a vocational outcome, specialist careers advice is provided and assistance with generating CV?s.
