2. Course description Students will study both the theoretical and practical aspects of physics. First year topics help us understand how the world around us works including particle physics quantum physics electricity mechanics waves and astrophysics. In the second year we look deeper into these subjects while expanding our knowledge by looking at topics as diverse as nuclear power and dark matter.

3. Entry requirements A minimum of 5 GCSE at grades A*-C including Mathematics and English Language. This must also include at least gade B in the GCSE Additional Science and in Core Science or a Single award GCSE Physics grade B. For students offering triple science we would anticipate at least grades BBB. It is required that sutdnets offer at least a grade B in Mathematics and strongly advised to offer at least grade B in English Language. All science and maths students will be required to attend a special session to assess their suitability for the A Level science courses; this will be arranged following your admissions interviews. 4. Equipment required Please enquire at your interview. 5. Assessment method You will be expected to come prepared with calculators stationery and other standard student resources.
