Program Purpose / Objectives

Statement of Purpose:

The purpose of this CME activity is to update the family practitioner, general internist or primary care physician on current diagnosis and management of commonly encountered adult and pediatric diseases

Preliminary Objectives for Activity:

“At the conclusion of this CME activity, participants should be able to:

• Identify challenges in common treatment choices for hyperlipidemia
• Discuss tools for the management of diabetes
• Identify types of oral agents available for treatment of diabetes
• List causes of fever in young children
• Discuss treatment options for RLS: both pharmacologic and non pharmacologic
• Discuss common issues that arise in newborn period
• Identify pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic strategies to manage dementia
• Identify causes of abnormal uterine bleeding
• Describe current drug therapy for anxiety and depression
• Describe current recommendations for treatment of hypertension
• Discuss likely causes of resistant hypertension
• Outline the definition, pathogenesis and diagnosis of asthma
• Describe the ideal smoking cessation system

Conference Sessions generally take place during the days at sea (as cruise itinerary allows) to avoid conflicts with Ports of Call or evening entertainment.
