Health and Social Care NVQ Levels 2 & 3
The number of people requiring care in society is rising and skilled staff are needed to help clients get the best from life and maintain as much independence as possible. Caring is an important vocation and can be extremely rewarding.


Awarding Body:
City & Guilds.

Qualification:
NVQ Level 2 & 3

Duration:
Approximately 12 months per qualification.

Course Content:
NVQ Level 2: 6 units (4 Core, 2 Optional)
NVQ Level 3: 8 units (4 Core, 4 Optional)

NVQ Level 2:
6 Units (4 Core Units)

  • Communicate with and complete records for individuals



  • Support the health and safety of yourself and individuals



  • Develop your knowledge and practice



  • Ensure your own actions support the care, protection and well-being of individuals


    2 Optional Units
    You chose, with guidance if needed, 2 units that are suitable for the environment you work in.


    NVQ Level 3:
    8 Units (4 Core Units)



  • Promote effective communication for and about individuals



  • Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the working environment



  • Reflect on and develop your practice



  • Promote choice, well-being and protection of all individuals


    4 Optional Units
    You chose, with guidance if needed, 4 units that are suitable for the environment you work in.

    Visits:
    You will receive approximately 8-10 visits. These may vary depending on whether an in-house assessor is available or not.

    This course may be available free of charge through the Train to Gain programme; subject to availability and eligibility.
