The Equine Care Technical Certificate Level 2 is for learners who wish to follow a career within the equine industry. The course incorporates a range of theory and practical elements alongside employer engagement. Learners attend the college campus for two days a week where they will receive their theoretical lessons, tutorial and English and maths if required. A further day is spent at our equine yard (Hartlebury Equestrian Centre) where practical skills, clothing, tacking and riding take place. Learners will also gain further knowledge and experience through work placements.

Entry Requirements
You will need a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 9 – 3.5 and / or Level 1 related subject e.g. Land-based studies. A keen interest in the care of horses is essential.
Delivery and Assessment
You will be assessed through practical assessments, assignments, case studies, presentations, on-line exams as well as a final end of course exam and synoptic assignment.
Progression
After successful completion of the Level 2 course, students who achieve a merit grade or above will be able to progress onto the Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Equine Management or enter employment in a stables yard or complete an apprenticeship.
