IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671)

The IEE Wiring Regulations, commonly referred to as BS7671, is the traditionally recognised Approved Code of Practice followed by all installation electricians. However, the legal requirements for any employee involved in electrical activites such as simply selecting the size of a cable or fuse must be fully aware of this British Standard.

Course Presentation
The course presenter has extensive electrical experience in the installation sector and delivers the subject in an informative way supported by practical solutions to a range of design issues. Candidates are loaned copies of the IEE Regulations and the On-site Guide throughout the course and exam. The course is designed to prepare candidates for the industry-recognised examination which can be taken on-line at a time to suit you.
On completion of the course, candidates will understand the regulative requirements regarding:

  • the scope and object of the regulations and fundamental requirements for safety;
  • the definitions and terms used in the Regulations;
  • protection against electric shock, burns, fires and overheating of cables and equipment;
  • selection of cables and accessories;
  • the recommended methods of installing equipment;
  • regulations regarding special installations (eg construction sites);
  • inspection, testing and certification.
