The aim of this qualification is to prepare you to work with children between birth and five years, with knowledge of children up to seven years. You could also progress onto the CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care or the CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce.

Course programme

You will study four themes: Introducing the Role of the Early Years Practitioner Legislation, Framework and Professional Practice Play, Development and Learning for School Professional Development. Continuing English and Mathematics will be included as part of your curriculum for progression. You will be required to complete 250 placement hours. Alongside this qualification, you will also study additional courses, relevant to the work environment, including Workskills and Ascentis units, as well as fundraising and enrichment activities.
