About this course

Upon completion of your course you will have studied a broad range of subjects which guide you through the principles and practice of professional make-up application. Designed to meet employers requirements, both courses provide valuable and relevant industry knowledge that could be utilised in areas such as working with high street or independent brands, as a make-up artist, within your own existing beauty business, considering training in beauty therapy or starting up on your own.

In addition to the above, for those wishing to receive a beauty guild accredited certificate award (for newcomers requiring insurance), you have the opportunity to book a one day practical training session with your tutor at her studio in Portsmouth, Hampshire. The cost of the training day including your beauty guild certificate is £85.00.

Having pioneered the first professional make-up school in Hampshire her openness to readily share her skills and experience with her students makes her a highly sought after educator. She is an acknowledged author to a variety of reputable and respected courses attracting many beauty professionals for training updates.

Course programme


Stage 1: Covers the core principles of make-up practice along with up to date, practical information on day, evening, bridal/wedding and special event make-up.

Study Plus: To assist with your practical studies this course comes with a free make-up DVD for use with module 7, which contains demonstrations carried out by a Makeover Studio tutor showing you how to achieve a variety of adaptable looks.

Stage 2: Having studied the fundamental principles and practice of make-up in stage one, stage two further enhances your skills and knowledge providing detailed theory and practice of media make-up suitable for fashion, photographic and catwalk. You will be encouraged to maximise your potential whilst learning how to achieve excellent results with a high standard of visual impact for the lens based industry. Study also includes an historical review of make-up over the last century and reveals valuable behind the scene tricks of the trade.
