Music Video Production
Music Video Production

This course is designed as a practical foundation in all of the elements necessary for producing a music video. We aim to provide you with a working knowledge of film grammar and industry conventions, basic concepts and the fundamental disciplines that are essential in production. We will deal with pre-production planning: team building; use of digital cameras; lighting, sound and simple non linear editing. Working in teams, students will produce two short videos whilst working to a set brief. The criterion for the course that you will be assessed upon is, amongst others, your control of the process technically. This is allied to the integrity of the original concept and sensitivity to the medium. We wish to see a depth of thought, originality and an understanding of the project with an ability and desire to reveal your work to others.

On Hampton Court Studios

Provider description
Interested in a career in Television, Film, Radio or the Media?

Then Hampton Court Studios is for you. Set amongst some of the most beautiful surroundings in London; we run courses in Screen Acting, Directing, Writing, Lighting, Make-up, Presenting, Photography and many more. We are a member of SKILLSET and BFI (British Film Institute).

Based in one of the most beautiful houses in London; Hampton Court Studio is unique in that it is a Film Academy that operates as a Studio. Its ethos is one dedicated to Cinema, Television and the Media in all its aspects. Tutors, leading menbers of the Industry, are intent on producing Filmmakers, Actors, Writers and Technicians who understand the many disciplines that go into the production of making Film and Television.

At HSC, Writers workshop their Screenplays with Actors. Directors learn to work with both. Lighting, Make-up and Design also work on shooting the scenes. This creative cross-fertilization of ideas results in a fresh appreciation of the differing and complimentary roles within the craft of Film and Television.

At HCS we believe in teaching that is always project based. New work is generated. Original short film scripts, and also classic movie scenes are re-interpreted and shot during the courses. Moreover, projects reaching a professional and competitive standard, will be showcased and may be entered to Festivals and to Production Houses for their consideration.

Students receive high quality professionally edited DVD's of their course work. Plus advice about contacts and career opportunities in the Film, Television and Media Industries.

Hampton Court Studios is unique. Set within 7 acres of magical 18th Century walled gardens; including palm trees, a heart shaped lake and folly and backing onto a Royal Park, HCS is without doubt the most beautiful film school in the country.

Our aim is to mentor aspiring actors, directors, writers, technicians, make-up artists, TV presenters - infact anyone involved within the media and entertainment business - giving them the highest quality training and opportunities for employment within the highly competitive 'business'. Our staff are not just teachers but, critically, highly respected working professionals within the film, TV and media industry. Amongst them are many BAFTA, IFTA and EMMY award winners, who have chosen specifically to work within the ethos of HCS, nurturing a new generation of creative talent.

HCS offers an unrivalled vocational experience, guaranteed to satisfy the most eager and demanding of students. We run dozens of part-time evening and day courses allowing students to mix and match modules if they choose. This might be screenwriting with directing, acting with TV presenting, photography with editing, modelling with make-up.

Apart from the setting and award-winning tutors, what makes HCS unique? It's our belief that all our teaching should be project based and practical. Writers can workshop their screenplays with actors. Directors learn to work with both. Lighting, photography, make-up and design also work on shooting and re-interpreting classic movie scenes. This cross-fertilization of ideas results in an appreciation of the differing, complementary, roles within film and television. Moreover, short films and projects, reaching a professional standard, will be showcased and may be entered into Festivals and other competitions for consideration. Hampton Court Studios has links with many agents and production companies.

At HCS all our students receive follow-up mentoring and advice about contacts and career opportunities in the film, television and media industries.
