NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

The course involves study days one day per month - typically on a Saturday - as well as observation in the workplace. Learners then plan a programme of development and assessment with their assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove that they are competent and knowledgeable in their work role. Learners must already either be employed or in a practical placement for the whole period of the qualification.

• BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
• Key Skills in Communication, IT and Application of Number.
• Learning about Employment Rights and Responsibilities.

This NVQ comprises of 10 units:

• Helping to keep children safe
• Supporting pupils' learning activities
• Promoting positive behavior
• Developing and promoting positive relationships
• Supporting the development and effectiveness of work teams.
• Reflecting on and developing practice
• Supporting literacy development
• Supporting numeracy development
• Supporting children with disabilities or special educational needs, and their families
• Supporting pupils with cognition and learning needs.
