You may join the scheme regardless of your age or your previous qualifications. However entry is subject to satisfactory completion of basic skills tests in numeracy, literacy and comprehension, followed by an interview with one of the AAT tutors.

Course Details:
The AAT operates a unit-based Education and Training Scheme. The scheme consists of 22 units of competence of which you choose 16. These are organised into three stages:
Foundation (7 units of competence)
Intermediate (5 units of competence, two of which are common to the Foundation Stage)
Technician (7 from 12 units of competence, one of which is common to the Foundation Stage).
These three stages are accredited as NVQs Level 2, 3 and 4 respectively. If you do not wish to complete the full scheme, you may attempt one-stage or individual units and obtain individual Unit Certification. In addition to College attendance you will need to spend several hours each week on home study in order to achieve competence.
Assessment: By a combination of external examination (written and marked by the AAT) and skills tests.
Career Progression:
AAT Intermediate. NVQ Level 3 in Accounting.

Fees:
We collect 7 x 15 = 105 skills test fees, which are payable to AAT, with the course fee.
Payable to AAT: The student member admission fee of 32, the annual membership fee of 69 and one examination fee of 39.
Books: Retail price 65. Please do not buy your books before the start of the course.
