The course is made up of 12 units - six core units, which everyone takes, and six specialist units. The specialist units enable you to study particular areas in depth and there is opportunity to follow a clear career pathway in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. These specialist pathways are recognized in the following endorsed qualification titles: BTEC National Certificate in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Electronic) BTEC National Certificate in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Electrical)

Entry requirements
You will normally need to have at least one of the following: A BTEC First Certificate or Diploma in related subject An Intermediate GNVQ in a related subject At least four GCSEs at grade A*-C including Mathematics

What will I study?
You will study 12 units in total 6 units in year 1 and 6 units in year 2 All students take these 6 core units: Business Systems for Technicians *Communications for Technicians Science for Technicians Mathematics for Technicians *Project ? Electrical/Electronic Electrical & Electronic Principles *These units contribute towards the externally assessed Integrated Vocational Assignment You will also study: Electronics, Microelectronics, Three Phase Motors & Drives, Further Electrical Principles, Further Mathematics and Electrical Applications

All units are assessed and graded and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded
