Course Details
These one-year courses are suitable for
regular volunteers and teaching assistants in schools. You need to either volunteer or work for a minimum of 6 hours each week in a teaching assistant role. You will study a combination of mandatory and optional
units covering topics such as how children learn, child protection and first aid. The theory is taught in an evening session at college, while some of the assessment will take place in the workplace (school) and you will be required to produce a portfolio of evidence of your good practice matched
to the NVQ standards.
