FOUNDATION DEGREE IN FINANCIAL SERVICES

Who is this course for?

This new degree course is a modern, nationally recognised HE qualification directly relevant to employment and degree progression. The degree aims to help you develop a broad range of knowledge and skills appropriate to the needs of the local economy.

The course is structured to focus on the roles and skills that are essential to an environment which is characterised by regulation, customer needs, application of ethics and the recognition of risk. The Foundation degree has strong links within the Financial Services sector and there are regular guest lecturers from within the industry, visits to local employers and conferences. The teaching team consists of both academic staff and professionals who are currently working within the industry, which gives a balanced perspective on current financial issues.

The main aim throughout will be to ensure a balance of interactive and formal sessions which will ensure that your experience will be enjoyable and worthwhile. Banks, building societies, insurance brokers, mortgage advisers and independent financial advisers are present throughout the UK and Ireland & Year 2 of the FT programme allows students to undertake relevant industrial experience in a range of employment areas. Whilst studying this degree you will also be given the opportunity to study for professional examinations with the industry's professional bodies.
