Part Time GCSE English How and what will I learn?
You shall study a variety of texts including Shakespeare, poetry and modern media. At the heart of the course is a strong focus on reading and writing skills, you can also receive high grades for the demonstration of speaking and listening skills.

What qualification will I gain?
GCSE English - a nationally recognised qualification, valued by both employers and Universities.

Qualifications needed to start
You will need to be currently able to work at level 1 but do not worry if you are unsure of what level you are at as we will establish this during your interview and assessment. You should demonstrate a keen interest in the subject. Regular attendance and a dedication to complete work by key deadline dates are essential to your success.

Progression on completion and Career Opportunities
GCSE English is a critical qualification; it is a requirement of many careers and an entry requirement for A levels and University entry.
Equally important is GCSE Maths so why not consider taking both subjects together, just check our website.

Will I have to take an exam?
There are two exam papers; however you are supported during the course with sessions on exam technique and the study of past papers.

How long does the course last?
The course is completed in one year, (30 academic weeks) but Pre-GCSE English is also available and this runs for one year and it prepares and leads you directly to the GCSE. Both options are available across our three sites with daytime and evening provision.
