Who is the course for?

Any person working or wanting to work within Community Transport, Hackney carriage (Private hire vehicles and chauffeur services).

Accreditation

This course is accredited by City & Guilds.

Course Content

The course consists of 7 mandatory units and two additional option units. Some of the course is training room based although the majority of the course is assessed in the workplace (this is flexible and can be tailored to meet the candidate's requirements).

Mandatory units

Health & Safety, driving (Picking up and setting down passengers), customer service, effective handling of difficult passengers, dealing with emergencies, dealing with passengers who require additional assistance, transporting young passengers and children.

A further two options will be required taken from a larger selection.

Progression Opportunities

On completion of the level 2 qualification candidates may progress to more senior positions such as leading driver, supervisor or inspector.
