- Explain the concept of the Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults in a care setting
- Define the term "abuse" distinguishing between the various patterns of abuse
- Confidentiality
- Risk assessment (incorporating into Care Plans)
- Rights and responsibilities of vulnerable adults (including their understanding)
- Emotional health and safety
- Physical health and safety
- How to report suspected abuse including who to report suspected abuse to
- Dignity and respect
- Boundaries
- Listening skills
- Working within the No Secrets Act and POVA /SOVA legislation
- Working within the organisation’s relevant policies
Who is the course suitable for?
All staff who work with vulnerable adults.
How is the course assessed?
Participants sit a multiple choice assessment at the end of the course. A certificate in Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults is issued to all who successfully show their competence.
