Anyone working with children and young people need to ensure they understand how to mange their own behaviour and that of other employees and the children themselves when dealing with professionals and volunteers.
This course will help learners to get a better insight into how situations can develop and how to effectively respond.
This Safer Working Practices course has been updated to be compliant with new Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022 legislation and how this applies in the workplace or when working with children and young people.
This course goes into detail about how to manage behaviour when working with children and young people, to be more aware of how situations can develop, and gives guidance on working practices suitable for a wide range of professionals and volunteers.
This course covers the following:
- Why safe working practices are necessary
- Guidance for both children and adults around safe working practices
- Protocols, procedures and terminology
- Relevant legislation and government guidance
- Management of allegations
- Behaviour, what is appropriate and how to manage it
The course includes a wide range of scenarios to enable to learner to reflect on own practice and engage in their learning; it also includes knowledge check challenges throughout and links to appropriate external organisations.
It is suitable for a range of roles such as teachers, social workers, police, volunteers and others working with vulnerable children and young people.
