Is this subject right for me?
Do you enjoy learning a language at school?
Are you prepared to "have a go" at communicating in the language?
Do you have an interest in how a language works?
This is a one-year course, requiring no previous knowledge and which is aimed primarily at students who are taking an advanced programme. You are expected to have an interest in languages and a commitment to hard work. You will be practising and developing the four skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) in the areas of experience required by the National Curriculum, as well as basic grammar structures. You have unlimited access to the Open Language Centre and weekly lessons with the Spanish assistant. This course would enable you to go onto a one year AS Level in Spanish if you achieved a grade B in the GCSE.
