Threading

Threading is a proven age-old form of facial hair removal practiced in Eastern Countries, like Egypt, India, China and Middle East. Threading has been used for many centuries. Is origin is a little ambiguous but it is believed that it was first used in Arabia, Turkey and India. In fact, threading has been used for more than 1,000 years by Asians to remove unwanted facial hair! It is becoming very popular here in the West. In Persian culture where it is called Bande Abru ("Abru" means eyebrow, and "Band" is the thread). Threading the entire face is widely spread amongst Iranians, but it was originally practiced when a woman was getting married or during special occasions. In ancient Persia, threading was a sign that a girl had reached adulthood and become a woman. The procedure uses a 100% cotton thread which is twisted and pulled along the skin surface of unwanted hair, lifting hair directly from the follicle. Threading removes the entire hair follicle, lasting between 2- 4 weeks.
