Course programme

• Selection is by interview. • You should have at least 4 GCSEs at minimum grade D including maths and English or equivalent, or a BTEC Foundation Certificate (Level 1) in a related subject. • Mature students will be assessed on relevant experience, clear motivation and a reasonable standard of attainment in written English. Course Content Units include: • Worldwide travel and tourism destinations • Selling skills • Tourist information • Cruise • Retail travel services • Interpersonal skills • Customer service • Resort representatives • Educational visits - You will be encouraged to familiarise yourself with the industry, either by visits, speakers, trade fairs or exhibitions in the UK. How will I be assessed? You will undertake assessments throughout the year to support your coursework. In addition, each unit has either a final external or internal assessment. Full attendance is therefore absolutely critical in order to achieve this qualification. Progression This course has a natural progression to higher level qualifications or you may go direct into employment. Note: that some careers have a minimum age for entry. Fees • If you are aged 16-18 as of 31st August on the year of enrolment - no course fee. • If you are over 19 as of 31st August and enrolling on a full-time programme of study a tuition fee will be applicable in most cases, please contact us for full information. Bursary Funds: There are financial support arrangements for 16-18 year olds and hardship funds available for the over 19’s.
