Travel & Tourism (Level 2)

This course is designed to provide specialist, work-related qualifications in the travel and tourism sector. This well designed and nationally recognised qualification will equip you for entry into employment into the travel and tourism industry and provide a route to higher qualification in this vocational area. It is also a suitable course of study for those already in work, seeking career development opportunities.

The course covers six units which include:

• The UK Travel and Tourism Industry,
• Exploring Customer Service in Travel and Tourism,
• UK Travel and Tourism Destinations,
• European Holiday Destinations,
• Exploring Marketing in Travel and tourism,
• Developing Employability Skills for Travel and Tourism.

The units will be achieved through a variety of assessment methods which include a mixture of practical and written tasks. In addition a language qualification will be studied in Italian, along with basic skills, First Aid and Food Hygiene.

Special Features

A variety of visits which this year may include:

• A day visit to Nottingham
• A visit to the World Travel Market in London
• A visit to Nottingham East Midlands Airport, Holiday Inn Express and The Thistle Hotel
• A visit to a trade exhibition
• An optional overseas visit will be planned and organised to a European destination

What Next?

Many students progress on to the Airline and Tour Operating Course or the Level 3 Nationals in Travel and Tourism.
