Aims of the course
To provide a systems overview of all areas of TV engineering, including electrical principles and signals; PAL; and broadcast equipment
Structure of the course
Theory and 'hands-on' sessions covering:
- component analogue video theory
- audio theory and signal distribution
- digital audio processing and standards
- digital video processing and standards
- video lines theory, distribution and equalisation
- audio and video monitoring in analogue and digital domain
- test signals and applications
- evaluation of performance and line-up of cameras
- evaluation of performance and line-up of monitors
- evaluation of performance and architecture of vision mixers/dve’s
- evaluation of performance and architecture of sound desks
- evaluation of performance and line-up of VCR's including generic menus and diagnostics
- evaluation of performance and line-up of pathway systems and matrices
The course finishes with practical and written assessments to enable delegates to consolidate and reaffirm their understanding
Course outcome
Delegates will leave the course having gained a greater awareness of television technology and systems found within the broadcast and audio visual industries
