Course Content

• A brief introduction to the brain and how it works.
• The difference between acute confusional state and dementia
• Different types of dementia e.g. Lewy Bodies Dementia, Multi-infarct Dementia, Alzheimers Disease, etc. including the varying signs and symptoms
• Caring for a person who has dementia and promoting quality of life
• Various treatments available
• Coping skills and dealing with stress for carers

Refreshments
Refreshments will be provided if training is held at Ace Care Venue.

Equipment Needed
Handouts and workbooks will be provided. Candidates need to bring notepaper and pens with them.
