Target Group:Any person who wishes to use Excel for basic spreadsheets, or who needs to use Excel for up to 3 hours per day.
Prerequisites: Delegates must be familiar with Windows and should be very comfortable using a mouse.
By the end of this course, using practical hands on tuition, you will have an understanding of the following features and techniques:
Creating and Manipulating Data - Create professional spreadsheets taking advantage of AutoFill to speed up data entry, data integrity tools to maintain accuracy and new formatting features to make your spreadsheets look striking
Formatting Data and Content - Learn how to effectively format spreadsheets to change appearance of text and numbers using colours, shading, borders and data visualisation tools. Apply formatting quickly using one of the many new built in table formats
Creating and Modifying Formulas - Use formulae or functions to add, divide, subtract and multiply. Learn how to calculate totals and subtotals and how to lookup data using VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP functions. Understand how to use the IF function to perform a calculation based on a condition. Display and print formulas
Presenting Data Visually - Create and format charts to display data in a graph format. Learn how to create bar charts, pie charts, line charts and more. Use conditional formatting on a document to present your data in a more visual way using visualisation bars to show the highest or lowest value in a range for instance. Add illustrations to a document using the built in diagrams, shapes, drawings and SmartArt. Summarise data effectively by using Excel's Outline tool to quickly hide or restore data by the click of a button. Learn about arranging data using sort and the improved filtering to quickly pinpoint the data you want in an Excel list
Collaborating and Securing Data - Learn how to work collaboratively with your colleagues using a shared workbook in Excel. Track and manage changes made by other users and prepare workbooks for distribution. Protect workbooks by setting a password and protect the content by restricting access to specific areas on a sheet. Set print options and page setup for printing your data
