This Hands Free Massage workshop covers a range of forearm techniques and introduces some elbow techniques that can substitute for and extend ‘classic’ massage techniques.
Unfortunately, these powerful tools have a poor reputation with some people because of their insensitive use, so the course focuses on learning to feel with your forearms and elbows and use them carefully and skillfully so as to avoid brutalising the client.
This technique is beneficial for the client in that it gives a different and deeper massage. It also helps massage practitioners save their fingers, thumbs and/or wrists (the most common areas of strain for practitioners) while applying firm pressure. Techniques taught can be blended into your current repertoire of skills, enhancing your treatments and saving your career by reducing strain, wear and tear on your joints.
This course is suitable for therapists with a qualification in massage, aromatherapy, osteopathy, chiropractic medicine, etc. It is particularly helpful for those who are feeling pain or discomfort when massaging clients.
