I was looking for a specialty and always thought lighting was one of the most important features to make a unique design. Recently discovered this course which gave me a clear panorama of lighting design through learning in classroom with excellent professors and excursions. What’s more, design management has provided me with useful skills that I can now apply to my own business. I chose this training due to the big exposure to classmates from 14 different countries and its flexibility as I was able to work and study at the same time. I’m completely satisfied with the study concept and I have trained myself to have more discipline during self-direct study. Definitely I would recommend it to those interested in lighting design.

Wismar’s study concept is totally different from any other that I’ve seen and it was one of the reasons why I chose this course. The plan is well balanced and prepares you to the field.

I had the chance to be part of a group of different countries and cultures whilst I took this course, which is one of the most important reasons to join an international master: to interact and learn from experiences of other people. From a professional point of view, this study is 100% completed with the high standards of each professor and their knowledge in the different themes that were addressed.

As a civil engineer, it was important to me to learn in this area. This worked out great. Especially these well-proven lecturers were very good. I can only recommend anyone who is interested in architecture and the environment, at least to think about it.

The study is well organized on the whole. This concerns both the documents and the presence events. The learning effect for architects in the first two semesters, however, is sometimes rather low, since here all the different disciplines are first brought to a level. The waiting times for grades are sometimes quite long. All in all, a good Masters course.

The topics were very interesting and instructive. The attendance events were also well structured. The group work with the other students is a challenge, but it always worked out somehow.

Description
Wings – Wismar International Graduation Services - a subsidiary of Wismar University – University of Applied Sciences offers part-time learning study programmes and certifies further educations for working professionals. The study programmes are offered in the fields of economy, technology and design through which participants can gain a higher public education degree such as a Bachelor, Diploma (FH) or Master.
The distance learning centre at Wismar University was founded in 1952. WINGS was based on this and was set up in April 2004. The primary tasks of WINGS are to develop, organise and market the part- time learning and further educational programmes under the academic expertise of Wismar University.
Wismar University is an advanced and innovative education and research institution having over 100-years of academic excellence. It is an international University that is practice and business oriented with over 8,500 students studying both on-campus and through part time learning.
Every part time student is enrolled as a regular student at Wismar University and is extensively and individually supported by WINGS based on his/her particular needs. This strengthens our concept of optimising the students’ needs to work in their profession whilst studying and combines the following 4 components: self-study, on campus seminars over selected periods during the semester, online conferences and access to the online-campus database.
Due to several contacts in Europe, the Baltic region, America, Latin America, Asia and in particular South-East-Asia, a variety of intercultural characteristics can be distinctively found in
our research and teaching methods. Currently we have students from all over the world who are participating in our part-time study programmes. With more than 4,700 students, WINGS has become one of the leading „Work and Study“ providers in Germany.
