The University of Wismar is offering the Master Architecture and Environment/ Green Architecture as an international and professional study programme next to your job as distance learning Programme. The aim of our professional study course is to provide the complexity and the technical knowledge necessary for 'ecological building' designing.
The inter-university degree programme provides knowledge about ecosystems, sustainable technical cycles, urban and building ecology, in particular energy saving and building construction, planning and design aspects. This will teach you how to apply scientific methods to convey and develop your own ideas independently.
Our professors and lecturers are themselves practicing architects, scientists and researchers from a variety of universities and research institutes who bring with them innovation and academic experience to accompany your projects.

About this course
The theme building and environment has become one of the most important topics regarding the future of building. It is deemed essential in the rapidly growing cities with large, mostly underdeveloped infrastructure, as well as in developed regions, which are often elaborately constructed, yet incorporate no sustainable concepts which value the environment.
The goal, to establish and reinforce sustainable and holistically considered standards of practice, requires necessary changes to the whole planning and building process. The inter-university distance learning programm is concerned with the fundamental aspects of sustainable, ecological planning and building.
The Course is intended to all interested architects all over the world who have already gained a first degree in Architecture and who are seeking to continue their academic education and expanding their knowledge and skills in the field of Green Architecture.
The Master Architecture and Environment/ Green Architecture as distance learning programme is a further education programme. To be admitted into our programme you need to meet the following requirements:
1. An Academic degree (Bachelor's, Master's, Diploma) in Architecture completed with a minimum of 180 credit points obtained from a national or international university, and
2. At least one year of professional work experience within the related field after completing your academic degree.
Sustainability will play a crucial role in the future of architecture. This is one reason students are starting our Course as we put focus on Topics concerning sustainability, ecological Building and architecture design.
The persons who are interested in our Coruse will receive an email explaining the course details by the course coordinator. A later phone call is recommended to ask further questions.
We recommend to Hand in with the application form the certificate of an international test (IELTS, TOEFL, etc.) to proof your english skills. The Course will be in English.
Currently we are not offering any scholarship, but we will provide you with all confirming documents necessary (e.g letter of admission, invitation letter to seminar week etc.).
Each Semester students have to attend one Workshop in Germany with lectures and Seminars. The rest of the time means selfstudying at your home Country, supported by us with online Meetings and calls.
For our programme a tourist visa is sufficient, as you stay at a workshop less then 12 days. We can provide an Invitation letter if necessary.
