Working with young people and families is a hugely varied profession, ranging from education and health to social welfare and community development. If you have a background in this field and want to boost your skills, our Youth, Community and Families top-up degree course will provide you with the essential training to help play a vital role in supporting the next generation.

Designed for anyone who has previously studied a relevant subject (up to Level 5), this course examines current events within the industry that influence how society works with young people and their families. You will also be able to explore a range of specialist subjects such as disability, counselling, mentoring and healthy communities.

To further specialise your knowledge, you will undertake a research project examining an area of your choice within the industry. By completing the course, you will be equipped to deliver a range of targeted services to help children, vulnerable young people and families across multiple sectors, as well as being able to support local authorities and voluntary sector organisations.

In light of COVID-19, we have made some changes to the way we deliver our teaching. Fee - 
A half year tuition fee is £4,625. UK/EU students do not pay tuition fees for any placement periods.

International students If you are an international student enrolling on a a full-time foundation degree or a BA/BSc in 2020/21, your fee for this academic year will be £11,500 per year. If you complete a placement year, there will be an administration fee of £500 for a full year, or £250 for a half-year placement.
