17th Edition IEE Regulations Overview

This course is aimed at those who need to update their knowledge to the current British Standards in Electrical Installation and Wiring Practice to BS76712001. You will gain an in-depth knowledge of the changes from the 16th Edition Wiring Regulations to the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations with second amendments.

Entry requirements

This course is aimed at those who have previous knowledge and experience of electrical work and installations, and those who currently work as electricians. You must also hold a Level 2 qualification in Electrical Installations.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed by a multiple choice online examination (City and Guilds 2381) and will receive your result at the end of the 2-hour exam.

What does the course lead to?

Upon completion of this course you would be able to progress onto the City and Guilds 2395 Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations course.

What will I study?

This course updates existing 16th edition electricians up to the new 17th edition qualification.

Elements covered:

- Marinas and similar locations
- Exhibitions, shows and stands
- Solar photovoltaic power supply systems
- Mobile or transportable units
- Electrical installations in caravans and motor caravans
- Temporary electrical installations for structures, amusement devised and booths at fairgrounds, amusement parks and circuses
- Floor and seiling heating systems.
