The Institute of Engineering and Technology publish the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations as British Standard BS7671:2018 (Blue Book). The Regulations apply to the design, erection and verification of electrical installations, also additions and alterations to existing installations.

2382-18 Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS 7671:2018)

Both the new 18th Edition (Blue cover) and the old 17th Edition (Yellow cover) will be current documents until January 2019. Fron January 2019 only the 18th Edition (Blue cover) will be permitted when designing, erecting and inspecting and testing electrical installations.
