2. Course description This course is aimed at students who want to seek employment in the plant process or instrumentation and control fields of work with the effective management of critical systems ensuring plant safety. Instrumentation and Control Engineers oversee any phase of plant operation from start-up to shut-down often monitoring configuring and maintaining automated processes.The course is modular based and will allow the students to explore new and existing technologies with a mixture of theoretical and practical skills. The Extended Diploma provides access to 180 credits (equivalent to three A Levels) with a maximum grade of Triple Distinction Starred (D*D*D*) carrying 420 UCAS pts
