Business Studies is an especially popular choice at A level, with high pass rates. It is ideal for you if you are thinking of studying a business related subject at university as it helps you to develop your research and evaluative skills, it is also ideal preparation for the world of work by improving your transferable skills such as your ability to analyse financial data and write business reports, whist gaining an insight into both the way in which businesses operate today, and the reasoning behind many business decisions.

The Sixth Form College is well-provided with dedicated teaching rooms; most of which are equipped with IT facilities, digital projectors, video and audio connections. Where appropriate, a specialist facility such as laboratory or editing suite is available. The College has a well-developed VLE for student use. Open access IT facilities and a comprehensive Learning Resources Centre are provided
You will require a minimum of 6 GCSEs at grades A*-C including English and maths grades 9-5 (formerly A*-C). There are specific grade requirements for some subjects, e.g. a minimum grade 6 (formerly B) in Maths GCSE to study this at A Level - please refer to the Sixth Form direct for more detail.

All three exam papers assess the whole of the A Level syllabus, including ”decision making to improve performance”, and “strategic decision making”.
AS topics taken in Year 1 consists of two exams, each assessing all of the AS syllabus on “Decision making to improve performance”.
