What will I do on this course?

This course helps to develop your knowledge and appreciation of the
richness of the most widespread language on the planet. To achieve
this you will explore many examples of prose (the English novel, formal and informal speech, the language of newspapers and so on) and different readers and audiences. The course includes original writing and studying some literary texts including Shakespeare. Group discussion forms a large part of this course and you will have plenty of scope for your own creative work.

How will I be assessed?
A combination of coursework and examinations.
