The aim of the course is to deepen your enjoyment and appreciation of literature and to develop your written English skills so that you have the best opportunity of gaining a widely respected national qualification. You will study units including Shakespeare, Drama and Poetry pre and post 1900 and you will also conduct written work throughout the course. We aim to provide a stimulating, personally enriching experience of literature. We read, discuss and study a variety of plays, novels and poetry and past and present authors and eras. Extensive wider reading on your own part will enable you to make the most of your abilities and derive the best from the course.
