A Level Law is for students who wish to learn about a range of laws that impact our daily lives. You will be interested in finding how the law operates, researching current legal issues and developing debating skills. You must be interested in developing both problem solving and written skills.

Course programme
As a law student you will not only learn about different areas of law but also how the legal system operates, how law is made, how the courts work and how judges interpret law. Main topics covered will be: The Legal System and Law Making, Criminal, Contract, Human Rights and Tort Law. These topics will involve problem solving exercises such as deciding a bail application and deciding the sentence for a young offender. In Criminal Law your studies will include homicide offences and defences. In Contract Law this will include the essential elements of offer, acceptance and consideration and in Tort Law this will include negligence and nuisance. You will follow debates on justice and morals. You will also be able to observe the law in practice with visits that include Parliament and the Supreme Court.
