Special Features: Maths is about solving problems. Attendance is vital. To do well you will need to practice the skills you learn in lessons so you must be prepared to work hard outside lessons as well.
Course Format: We aim to involve our students as much as possible in the learning process. You will be given plenty of opportunity via questions, discussion and written work to check your understanding. In addition teachers are available outside lesson time for additional help.
You will be set regular homework and plenty of past papers to give you practice and confidence. Official assessment is by examination. There are 6 module papers (3 for AS and 3 for A2) each of 1.5 hours.
Progression: Students wishing to progress onto A2 Maths must achieve D grade at AS Level.
Maths is essential for most Scientific and Engineering courses at University and is highly recommended for all courses. Employers always value achievement in Maths.
