What will I do on this course?
This A Level develops in-depth knowledge and understanding of the principles of physics.
During the first year of the course (AS) you will study:
· Particle physics
· Quantum phenomena
· Electricity
· Mechanics
· Properties of materials
· Waves.
During the second year of the course (A2) you will study:
· Further mechanics
· Fields of physics
· Nuclear physics
· Thermal physics.
In addition you will study one option from astrophysics, medical physics, applied physics or turning points in physics. Practical work is an integral part of the course and you will gain hands-on practical skills and data analysis skills.
How will I be assessed?
A combination of examinations and practical assignments.
