Is it for me?
AAT intermediate is suitable if you have completed the Foundation course or have substantial book-keeping experience, and a prior acceptable accounting qualification. Qualified and part-qualified Accounting Technicians are much in demand by employers.
Where will I study?
Baltic Campus
You'll be based at our fantastic £39million Baltic campus on the quayside. The campus has a prime location on Gateshead quayside, and state-of-the-art facilities including a Jacuzzi, gym and sauna, a 200 seat theatre, state-of-the-art classrooms, training kitchen and restaurant, refectory, bistro and vending areas.
What do I need?
Normally you will have completed the AAT Foundation course. Applicants with substantial book-keeping experience, or an acceptable accounting qualification may start at this level, providing a diagnostic test is taken.
Applicants new to the College will be interviewed by the Course Leader.
What will I study?
Intermediate Stage - one year

Assessment
At each level, students will be assessed by means of Skills Tests taken throughout the year as topics are completed and by Central Assessments which take place in June and December. In order to qualify for full membership, students must compile a portfolio of evidence of their competence in each stage of the course. This may be gathered from the workplace as well as by completing AAT skills tests in College. Each NVQ level may be taken as a 'stand alone' qualification. To qualify for full membership of AAT, however, students must achieve competence in each level of the course.

Can I go onto further study?
Each stage of the AAT course progresses to the next and from the Technician stage you may move to our Chartered Institute of Management Accounting (CIMA) course.
