A short course to cover the Health and Safety requirements involved in the use and replacement of the abrasive wheel in various circumstances.

The specifics of this course are, that upon completion of training, the operator should be able to mount abrasive wheels and operate safely in accordance with the requirements of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.

Training for operators can be carried out on a range of equipment, including: bench mounted, portable, electric and engine. Legislation, reasons for training and Codes of Practice are covered.

The course will also cover the maintenance checks both daily and routine that an operator needs to be aware of during and post use.

Techniques, safe use of the machines and good and bad practice will be demonstrated.

Assessment criteria and competence certification is issued by Lantra Awards and carried out at the end of the course by the trainer.
