Certificate Courses
The Language Centre assists International Students and Researchers coming to study in Britain who need to improve their English before starting their main course.
London College of Excellence ask students to show their ability in English by scoring B or above in the Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English or Certificate of Proficiency in English, or taking an IELTS teat. We ask for a score of 6.5 for a degree programme and 5.5 for short programmes. This test, which is organised by the British Council and the University of Cambridge, indicates candidates' ability in reading, writing, listening and speaking English. Please contact our local British Council office for information about when you can take the test. We strongly recommend you to use the British Council Library in your country to look at example papers before you take the test.
If you do not score 6.5 in the IELTS test, we provide an intensive Academic English Programme to help you. Student's IELTS score usually improve half a point per month. We therefore, recommend the following course lengths:
IELTS 4.5 4 months IELTS 5.0 2 months
IELTS 5.0 3 months IELTS 6.0 1 month
