Academic English

Our English Language, Study and Communication Skills course lasts from one to four terms, and gives you 20 hours a week of dedicated tuition time. It offers the chance to improve your general and academic knowledge and use of the English language.

Once you have demonstrated that you meet the relevant standards, you will be able to progress to the next level or onto your chosen BPP University degree or other programme, as appropriate, without the need for any further external English language testing.

Students will improve their general and academic English skills in writing, reading, speaking, listening and grammar, and, in the final level of the course, will learn essential academic study skills including computer skills and presentation skills relevant to higher education or employment in the UK.

You will also have a Personal Tutor who works with you throughout your studies to support and guide you in achieving your study goals, improving your English language and study skills and ultimately progressing effectively onto the next stage of your education.
